Climate Change causes illegal entry of Central Americans into the USA

LOGIC 101 Lecture by Beto O'Rourke 6/28/2019

You’ve got to remember. They’re fleeing the dumbest countries on the face of the planet today. Compounded by drought that was caused not by God, not by Mother Nature but by us, man made climate change, our emissions, our excesses, our inaction in the face of the facts, and the science. When it’s that deadly, and when you’re unable to grow your own food to feed yourself you have no choice but to come here.

Conclusion: Therefore the solution to the illegal entry crisis is to get rid of Trump and take climate action. Ensuring the integrity of international borders and enforcing immigration laws is not the answer. The answer is climate action. This is because, in the age of climate change, all problems can be framed in terms of climate change, and then solved simply by cutting emissions. This is the brave new world of climate change that Trump, and people like him, don't understand.

Show Your Stripes

CLIMATE SCIENCE: STRONG EVIDENCE THAT WHAT IS MARKETED AS OBJECTIVE SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY IS A CLEAR CASE OF ACTIVISM WITH SCIENTISTS WORKING HAND IN GLOVE WITH ACTIVISTS AS ORGANIZER AND TRAINER TO PROMOTE FEAR BASED ACTIVISM AND SELL THE CLIMATE CHANGE AGENDA.

THE U.S. GOVERNMENT'S EVALUATION OF THE CLIMATE CHANGE ISSUE: THESE COMMENTS BY THE HEAD OF THE HOUSE SELECT COMMITTEE ON CLIMATE CHANGE MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THE EVALUATION IS NOT OBJECTIVE BUT A HIGHLY ORGANIZED MECHANISM FOR CLIMATE ACTIVISM GUIDED AND AIDED BY CLIMATE SCIENTISTS WHO ARE ALSO CLIMATE ACTIVISTS.

THE COMMENTS BELOW REVEAL THAT SCIENTISTS AND HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES HAVE FORMED A CLIMATE ACTIVISM CABAL TO SELL CLIMATE ACTION.

A commentary on the Climate Change Issue by US Rep Kathy Castor, head of the House Select Committee on Climate Change.

          FIGURE 2: FLORIDA

  1. "Hello, I'm Kathy Castor and I chair the House Select Committee on The Climate Crisis.
  2. Climate Scientists are asking us to do something very simple today and I want to tell you how you can participate.
  3. These are the warming stripes. Each line represents one year of global temperature data from 1850-2018. These stripes have become a powerful symbol because they make our climate crisis so clear.  (FIGURE 1)
  4. And this year our House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis became the first government body to use the warming stripes in our logo.
  5. I love it when our colleagues ask us what the stripes mean. It's a great way to start a conversation about what we're doing to solve the climate crisis.
  6. Now scientists have made it easy for you to picture what global warming looks like in your backyard so you can start your own conversation. For example, these are the warming stripes from my home state of Florida. (FIGURE 2). Every place is different and we're all affected by the climate crisis.
  7. So go to ShowYourStripes dot info and find your warming stripes. Then start a conversation. Post them to social media with the hashtag "Show Your Stripes".
  8. Because no matter where we live, we're all in this together.

An Agency Theory of Securities Regulation: A Note

Chaamjamal, Thailand

  1. In presenting the history of securities regulation we examine the rise of credit and equity financing in pre-industrial Europe and trace the evolution of regulation from the Bubble Act of 1720 through the market break of 1929 and the formation of the SEC, to the present day issues with regard to financial innovations, computerization of trading, globalization of capital markets and operational risks in emerging markets.
  2. Modern finance theory is wanting a coherent theory of regulation. Scholarly work on the theory of regulation forwarded by Bennett, Bentson, Friend, Kripke, Loss, Mann, Merton Miller, Rosen, Seligman, Stigler, and others during a 30-year period (1964 to 1994) address different aspects of regulation and their theories are in conflict.
  3. Much of the theoretical debate has been in the form of for and against regulation. For example, Stigler and his supporters are against regulation because, they argue, disclosure requirements impose unnecessary costs on corporations. According to this view, "disclosure increases share prices" and since managers pay is tied to firm performance it is in the self interest of managers to disclose anyway without the need for externally imposed regulation. Friend and others dispute this view and argue for regulation. They contend that "it is precisely because" of the managers self-interest in high share prices that he is likely to withhold adverse information or exaggerate positive information. Similar debates (for or against) exist for other forms of regulation such as anti-trust laws, the control of insider trades and SEC rules concerning the behavior of brokers, the operation of exchanges and new issue offereings by corporations.
  4. The purpose of regulation itself is embroiled in controversy. Why does securities regulation exist? Is it to protect the individual investor? from whom? Or is it to preserve capital markets? Or to assist corporations in raising capital? In our analysis we consider all forms of regulation including uniform accounting methods, NASD and exchange internal regulations, and externally imposed regulation by legislation and we argue that regulation exists for all of these reasons. We support the argument by building a coherent model of regulation using the cost of capital to corporations in the aggregate economy as the operational variable. We then define a term called the `agency cost of capital formation and show that regulation influences the cost of capital (and therefore the wealth of the economy) by acting through this variable. Rather than argue for or against regulation our theoretical model sets the framework for an optimal level of regulation.
  5. We contend that the agency cost of capital formation is a significant portion of the cost of capital to corporations. A well designed regulatory structure is necessary to reach an optimal balance between monitoring costs imposed by regulation and the reduction in agency costs achieved by regulation. In the absence of regulation, wealth transfers between shareholder, debtholders, and management may occur that drive investors from the market; and prices are not optimal and do not allocate capital efficiently. Because of the added risk investors demand additional returns. The result is an increased cost of capital to corporations, and less overall investment in productive assets. Excessive and inappropriate regulation are associated with high monitoring costs to corporations because they limit the ability of the market to attract new capital, to provide liquidity to investors, or to allow corporations to utilize the market to finance new projects.

FOUND IN ACTUAL HOSPITAL RECORDS

FOUND IN ACTUAL HOSPITAL RECORDS  BY Norman R. McBride

By the time he was admitted, his rapid heart had stopped, and he was feeling better.

Patient has chest pain if she lies on her left side for over a year.

The patient states there is a burning pain in his penis which goes to his feet.

On the second day the knee was better and on the third day it had completely disappeared.

She has had no rigors or shaking chills, but her husband states she was very hot in bed last night.

I will be happy to go into her GI system; she seems ready and anxious.

Patient was released to outpatient department without dressing. I have suggested that he loosen his pants before standing, and then, when he stands with the help of his wife, they should fall to the floor.

The patient is tearful and crying constantly. She also appears to be depressed.

Discharge status: Alive but without permission. T

The patient will need disposition, and therefore we will get Dr. Blank to dispose of him.

Healthy appearing decrepit 69 year-old male, mentally alert but forgetful.

The patient refused an autopsy.

The patient has no past history of suicides.

The patient expired on the floor uneventfully.

Patient has left his white blood cells at another hospital.

Patient was becoming more demented with urinary frequency.

The patient's past medical history has been remarkably insignificant with only a 40 pound weight gain in the past three days.

She slipped on the ice and apparently her legs went in separate directions in early December.

The patient experienced sudden onset of severe shortness of breath with a picture of acute pulmonary edema at home while having sex which gradually deteriorated in the emergency room.

The patient left the hospital feeling much better except for her original complaints.

Reference: Non-water flushing, Bangkok Post My Home Magazine, April 22, 2010

It has been a long and bitterly cold winter in the Himalayas with record snowfall; and so I was surprised to read in the Bangkok Post that the Mekong River is drying up because "the amount of ice and snow in the Himalayas this winter is less than usual, and much of it melted in January and February" due to global warming (Non-water flushing, Bangkok Post My Home Magazine, April 22, 2010). Has the global warming juggernaut reached such momentum that even actual weather data don't matter?

The reference to the New World natives as Injuns or Indians certainly derives from "los indigenas", the Spanish term for native people. The popular folklore that the term has something to do with India is fanciful speculation.

Reference: Less ice less pups, Bangkok Post, April 19, 2010

Changing wind patterns in the Arctic Oscillation cycle - not temperature - had caused an extensive summer melt of Arctic sea ice in 2007 and a low Arctic ice extent in October of that year. Nevertheless, global warming activists seized on this melt data as the leading indicator of climate change Armageddon with headlines saying that the Arctic "is screaming", that it is the "canary in the coal mine", and that polar bears and other creatures in the Arctic are dying off and facing imminent extinction. They said that melting sea ice had set up a positive feedback system that would cause the summer melts in subsequent years to be greater and greater until the Arctic became ice free in the summer of 2012 unless we acted immediately to cut carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels.

Press releases and "research papers" in this vein continue to this day even though the trend in the summer melt extent has been going in exactly the opposite direction and even though Arctic ice has made a complete recovery from its 2007 melt and even though no actual empirical study of animal populations has shown that their numbers are diminishing.

The 2007 ice data have given such momentum to global warming advocacy that even now, in 2010, in the face of overwhelming data to the contrary, we find find two articles in the Bangkok Post still screaming about Arctic creatures endangered by global warming. Clearly, there are still too many scientists out there whose livelihood depends on publishing papers that support the war against carbon dioxide.

Reference: Ice cap thaw may awaken Icelandic volcanoes, April 17, 2010

Global warming scientists have come up with the bizarre idea that carbon dioxide causes volcanic eruptions in Iceland. The argument goes that carbon dioxide emissions cause global warming, global warming in turn causes glaciers in Iceland to melt, and melting glaciers lighten the weight of the ice cap on volcanoes and thereby trigger eruptions (Ice cap thaw may awaken Icelandic volcanoes, April 17, 2010).

It is clearly a sinister attempt to ride the media wave created by the volcanic eruption under the Eyjafjallajoekull glacier and to use that fear factor to sell their war against carbon dioxide. The reality is of course very different. Melting glaciers do not cause volcanic eruptions. Volcanic eruptions cause melting glaciers.

We now know that much of the glacier melt that the global warming people tried to pin on carbon dioxide was actually caused by geothermal activity under the ice not just in Iceland but also in the West Antarctic Ice Sheet and in Greenland. They have not learned from their prior errors committed while dishonestly overselling the global warming hype and are about to commit VolcanoGate right in the heels of HimalayaGate and dozens of other humiliating retractions.

Reference: Forecasters predict good monsoon season, Bangkok Post, April 15, 2010

For about two years now the global warming people have been warning us that our carbon dioxide emissions will weaken and delay the monsoon in South Asia with devastating results that were to include drought, crop failure, and and hunger (Climate change to delay monsoon in South Asia, Bangkok Post, March 20, 2009). Yet, the 2009 monsoon came right on time not at all delayed or weakened and whatever devastation it may have caused came as floods and not as drought (Flash floods from heavy monsoon rains, Bangkok Post, July 21, 2009); and the 2010 monsoon is expected to do the same (Forecasters predict good monsoon season, Bangkok Post, April 15, 2010). Those who make policy decisions based on the long term forecasts of the IPCC that cannot be checked against data may wish to consider that all - every one - of their shorter term forecasts that can be checked against ensuing data have been proven false.

Reference: 800 flee eruption, Bangkok Post, April 15, 2010

In the heydays of the global warming movement glacial advances were ignored and glacial retreats exaggerated and ascribed to carbon dioxide emissions. Geothermal effects were not considered even after it became known that the melt data on the West Antarctic Ice Sheet were taken from a region with volcanic activity under the ice (The fire below, Bangkok Post, April 28, 2008). Now that the volcano under the Eyjafjallajokull has erupted and broken through the ice for all to see, can we expect yet another retraction from the IPCC with respect to retreating glaciers in Iceland along the lines of their retraction of the state of impending catastrophe about retreating glaciers in the Himalayas?

Reference: Nuclear dead end, Bangkok Post, April 15, 2010

All energy consultants who are Green activists are motivated primarily by their Green agenda and in this instance that agenda happens to be to oppose nuclear power production (Nuclear dead end, Bangkok Post, April 15, 2010). Although their opinions need to be heard and balanced with those of the nuclear power industry, it is necessary for policy makers to remain objective as they weigh these extreme and biased viewpoints.

Reference: Kingdom sees big struggle to remain carbon neutral, Bangkok Post, April 14, 2010

Bhutan is currently carbon negative, not carbon neutral (Kingdom sees big struggle to remain carbon neutral, Bangkok Post, April 14, 2010), and a struggle if any, not to remain but to achieve carbon neutrality, would require a massive increase, not a decrease, in energy consumption by this tiny country whose main feature is extreme poverty in isolated valleys among towering and uninhabitable mountains. Although Bhutan is often mentioned in the context of global warming, it's energy consumption and carbon neutrality are really quite irrelevant when one considers that the USA alone consumes more energy in a few minutes than what Bhutan consumes in a year. Nor is Bhutan a model for other countries to emulate unless things like poverty, illiteracy, and poor medical and infrastructure services are worth emulating.

Reference: America will be just fine, Bangkok Post, April 7, 2010

On the one hand, Western pundits warn us about the dangers of an impending "population bomb" brought about by overpopulation. We are told that the planet is being overwhelmed by the sheer number of people on it and will soon be unable to supply us with sufficient food, water, shelter, and energy and so we must do everything we can to control the population growth rate.

On the other hand, we find that the Western nations themselves are scrambling for population growth to the point that the United States is now counting on a vigorous fertility rate to boost its population to 400 million by the year 2050 as a way of gaining economic advantage over nations with more stable populations (America will be just fine, Bangkok Post, April 7, 2010).

We thus find that the same nations that fund anti-fertility programs to limit population growth in Asia and Africa are, at the same time, gloating about their ability to increase fertility and growth rate of their own populations.

These contradictions raise serious questions. Is population growth good or bad? Is the population bomb a global problem or a localized one? To protect the planet from the population bomb should the population growth in some areas be restricted while that in others encouraged?

Reference: Droughts, floods sped up Angkor's demise, Bangkok Post, March 31, 2010

Scientists studying the Angkor ruins in Cambodia have found that the city died in the 15th century from extreme weather events in the form of alternating periods of floods and drought. Climate scientists may wish to take note of these findings so that they may become aware that extreme weather events such as droughts and floods are not unique to a post-industrial world subjected to the carbon footprint of human activity. Thereby they would be spared the extraordinary effort they make to link every instance of extreme weather to carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels.

Reference: Green economy could save the planet, Bangkok Post, March 31, 2010

I have good news and bad news for those who believe that the earth is "overheated, under-resourced, and out of time"and that "reducing greenhouse gases" will "save the planet" (Green economy could save the planet, Bangkok Post, March 31, 2010). The bad news is that if the planet were in danger there is nothing we could do about it because humankind does not possess the ways and means to save it. "Reducing greenhouse gases" would not do it. The good news is that the planet is not overheated, under-resourced, or out of time and it does not need saving.

Reference: Rising sea levels sinks New Moore Island in Bangladesh, AP, March 24, 2010

Bangladesh is the world's largest delta with over 80% of its land described as a flood plain. Deltas are formed by sedimentation. They are not static but ever changing with a dynamic interplay between land erosion and new land formation.

The rivers that drain into Bangladesh deposit more than 500 million tonnes of sediment each year. Many islands do disappear but new ones form. In the net, more land is gained than lost. In this context, the formation of a single island in the 1970s and its disappearance 30 or so years later are not remarkable and do not have any implications with respect to the supposedly catastrophic effects of carbon dioxide emissions.

Only a measurable trend in a reduction of the total land area of Bangladesh over a period of many years could be presented as evidence of such a global event. These data have not been presented possibly because the delta is actually growing - not shrinking. The rate of growth is estimated to be over 12 square miles per year. These data are not consistent with the idea that a rising sea level caused by carbon dioxide emissions is inundating Bangladesh.

In any event, the claim in the article that the sea level is set to rise by one meter by the year 2050 is at odds with more recent press releases by the IPCC in which even the modest forecast of a rise of 59 cm by the year 2100 has been withdrawn along with a slew of retractions after flaws in their science became widely publicized.

The unwinding of the climate change hype

The once feared hype about catastrophe from carbon dioxide emissions is in ruins. The failure of the warmists to make their case at the Copenhagen summit came on the heels of leaked emails from climate scientists that exposed a conspiracy to defraud. Even as the IPCC was in damage control mode to defend itself from these charges, there were further even more damaging revelations of scientific fraud and incompetence.

It is now known that scores of their claims about devastation from carbon dioxide emissions including their claim that hurricane Katrina was caused by carbon dioxide emissions, that the Amazon forest will be turned into a savanna, that Africa's agriculture and coral reefs worldwide would be devastated, that the Himalayan glaciers are melting and will be gone in 25 years, that the sea level is rising and inundating atolls in the Pacific, and that the Arctic will be ice free in 15 years, that that glaciers in the Alps and the Andes are in accelerated and alarming decline; are lies.

The IPCC is now busy retracting one scary claim after another apparently in secret as the media that once hyped them have gone silent on the retractions. Even so, the warmists' credibility and its fear factor are both gone. The global warming house of cards is falling apart.

Reference: Meeting Copenhagen's challenge, Bangkok Post, January 22, 2010

Such is the wily power of bureaucratic double-speak that it can paint the failed climate meeting in Copenhagen as a great success; and a document called an "Accord" only because no signatory would accept the word "Treaty", as a positive outcome (Meeting Copenhagen's challenge, Bangkok Post, January 22, 2010). The global warming movement and the whole of the allegedly scientific case against carbon dioxide are based on exactly this kind of word magic that always leads to the same conclusions whatever the data.

NEW POST

INDIGENOUS PEOPLES

Posted  on: January 2, 2022

Celebrating indigenous peoples and how they gained a voice on the world stage - Los Angeles Times

THIS POST IS A STUDY OF THE CONTRADICTIONS IN THE SACREDNESS OF BEING INDIGENOUS

WHEN THE EUROPEANS DEVELOPED THE TECHNOLOGY FOR CELESTIAL NAVIGATION AND OCEAN CROSSING SHIPS AND BEGAN TO EXPLORE THE WORLD THEY FOUND AND SETTLED PRIMITIVE UNDEVELOPED REGIONS WITH SPARSE POPULATIONS SUCH AS THE AMERICAS. THE PEOPLE THEY FOUND THERE ARE DESCRIBED AS “THE PEOPLE THAT WE FOUND HERE WHEN WE ARRIVED” OR IN SPANISH “INDIGENOUS”, PRONOUNCED {IN THEE HAY NUSS}.

OVER THE YEARS, IN A WEIRD TWIST OF ENVIRONMENTALISM AND RACISM THE WORD INDIGENOUS HAS BECOME SACRED AND SOME KIND OF RELIGION WHERE THE EUROPEAN SETTLERS ARE NOW IN CHARGE NOT OF HELPING THESE PEOPLE TO DEVELOP ALONG THE LINE OF EUROPEAN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT BUT OF PRESERVING THE PRIMITIVE CULTURE AND LIFESTYLE OF THESE PEOPLE.

OF THE MANY CONTRADICTIONS IN THIS SACREDNESS THE MOST CRUEL AND RACIST IS THAT THOUGH THE ADVANCED EUROPEAN RACES ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE TO THE PRIMITIVE PEOPLES OF OTHER COUNTRIES {SEE LIST AND MAP BELOW}, TO ENLIGHTEN AND ENRICH THEM WITH EUROPEAN METHODS AND TECHNOLOGY, THAT KIND OF ASSISTANCE IS NOT POSSIBLE IF THE PRIMITIVE PEOPLE ARE THE ONES THE EUROPEANS FOUND IN THE NEW LANDS THAT THEY SETTLED. THE SPANISH WORD “INDIGENOUS” HAS TAKEN ON SUCH AN AURA OF SACREDNESS AND ENVIRONMENTALISM THAT IT PREVENTS THE EUROPEANS FROM PROVIDING DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE TO THESE PEOPLE IN THE SAME WAY THAT THEY PROVIDE DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE TO PRIMITIVE PEOPLE ELSEWHERE.

BELOW WE PROVIDE A LIST OF COUNTRIES WITH PRIMITIVE PEOPLE WHOM THE EUROPEANS HAVE HELPED OR ARE CURRENTLY HELPING TO RISE UP TO THE EUROPEAN STANDARD OF LIVING BY PROVIDING THEM WITH DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE ALONG WITH EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY AND VALUES AS WELL AS THINGS LIKE EDUCATION AND UNIVERSITIES. MANY OF THESE COUNTRIES HAVE MADE SIGNIFICANT ADVANCES WITH INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY THE GLOBAL NORTH. FOR EXAMPLE, BANGLADESH, ONCE A COUNTRY OF RICE FIELDS AND PRIMITIVE FISHERMEN ON ROW BOATS IS NOW A SIGNIFICANT MANUFACTURER OF SHIPS.

Burundi, Somalia, Mozambique, Madagascar, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Liberia, Niger, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Bangladesh AND SO ON SHOWN IN THE MAP BELOW WHERE THE REDDER THE COUNTRY THE RICHER IT IS AND THE DARKER THE COUNTRY THE POORER IT IS.

THE PHRASE “WE FOUND THEM HERE WHEN WE ARRIVED” TAKES ON SACRED ENVIRONMENTALISM AND RACISM VALUES WHEN IT IS TRANSLATED INTO SPANISH AND THIS RELIGION OBLIGATES THE EUROPEAN SETTLERS TO KEEP THESE PROPLE PRIMITIVE SO THEY CAN WORSHIP THEIR PRIMITIVENESS.

I SHOULD ADD THAT THE EUROPEANS TOO ARE INDIGENOUS. THEY ARE INDIGENOUS TO EUROPE. EVERYONE ON EARTH IS INDIGENOUS TO SOMEWHERE – THE PLACE WHERE THEY WERE BORN AND RFAISED. BUT FOR SETTLERS OF NEW LANDS, THE WORD HAS MAGICAL POWERS.

Indigenous peoples in Brazil - Wikipedia
WE MUST KEEP THEM PRIMITIVE SO WE CAN WORSHIP THEIR PRIMITIVENESS

THIS RACIST CONTRADICTION IS ALSO FOUND IN TRADITIONAL MAINLINE SEEMINGLY ANTI RACIST MOVEMENTS THAT ARE THEMSELVES MORE RACIST THAN THE RACISM THEY APPEAR TO BE OPPOSE. AS FOR EXAMPLE, THE NOW FAMOUS SONG THAT “THE ANSWER MY FRIEND IS BLOWING IN THE WIND, THE ANSWER IS BLOWING IN THE WIND.

IN ALL SUCH CASES, THE ESSENCE OF THE HYPOTHESIS IS THAT THE WHITE MAN IS THE CARETAKER OF THE LESSER HUMANS. IT IS THE RACISM OF THE RACISM OF THE RACISM BUT IT SOUNDS GOOD BECAUSE THE WHITE MAN SAYS HE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE LESSER HUMANS.
